$250,000 Awarded to 24th Annual TYLENOL® Future Care Scholarship Recipients

FT. WASHINGTON, PA, October 27, 2014 – McNeil Consumer Healthcare Division of McNEIL-PPC, Inc. (McNeil), the makers of TYLENOL®, is proud to introduce the 40 recipients of the 24th annual TYLENOL® Future Care Scholarship. The 2014 program awarded a total of $250,000 in scholarship funds to undergraduate and graduate students pursuing an education in healthcare.

Winning students are named TYLENOL® Future Care Scholars and receive awards of $5,000 or $10,000 to help them manage the rising costs of education and embark on dynamic and compelling careers such as nurse practitioners, pharmacists, dentists and family doctors, which are among the numerous areas in the field of healthcare poised for growth. According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, more than half of the top 20 fastest growing professions are in healthcare1 and the industry has been projected to continue to grow at an annual rate of 2.6 percent, adding 5 million more jobs between 2012 and 2022.2

“McNeil is proud to recognize the 2014 class of TYLENOL® Future Care Scholars, an exceptional group of students whose collective goals and career ambitions align with our commitment to the increasingly important future of healthcare,” said Emile Lee, Vice President of Communications at McNeil Consumer Healthcare. “The TYLENOL® brand is dedicated to caring for people who are committed to caring for others and to date, the TYLENOL® Future Care Scholarship program has awarded more than $9.1 million in scholarship funds to more than 7,000 students on a variety of diverse career paths in the healthcare field.”

The TYLENOL® Future Care Scholarship recipients were selected based on academic excellence, leadership and community involvement. To be eligible, students must have completed at least one year of undergraduate or graduate study by the Spring of 2014 at an accredited two or four year college, university or vocational/technical school.

“I have always loved interacting with people of every age and culture, and I appreciate the many differences between people. I especially love to serve people and to help improve their lives in whatever way I can. Nursing provides opportunities to interact with others, as well as opportunities to touch their lives every day,” said Brigham Young University student, Alexandra N.

Tyler C. of Stanford University said, “ The positive impact made on others is how I plan to measure, on a personal level, the success I have had in my career. This is one of the primary reasons I have entered the journey to become a physician.”

Applications for the 25th annual TYLENOL® Future Care Scholarship will be available in Spring 2015. Visit: www.Tylenol.com/Scholarship to learn more. Additional information on individual scholarship recipients is available upon request.
