Liz Forminard is Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer for Johnson & Johnson and a member of the Company’s Executive Committee. She serves as legal advisor to the Board of Directors and company executives and is responsible for shaping legal strategy worldwide. Liz also oversees the Company’s Environmental, Social and Governance strategy, Office of the Corporate Secretary, and Privacy organization. In addition, she serves as the executive sponsor of the Open & Out LGBTQ+ Employee Resource Group.
Since joining Johnson & Johnson in 2006, Liz has served as General Counsel across each of the Pharmaceuticals, Consumer Health and MedTech sectors, as well as Vice President leading the Corporate Governance function and numerous other functional and business-facing roles. Over more than two decades of her in-house legal career, Liz has distinguished herself as a dedicated and trusted legal partner with strong business acumen and a keen focus on understanding patient and customer needs.
With deep global experience, including responsibility for the legal function in each region and a global assignment in the Asia Pacific region, Liz has built and led global teams who share her passion for the role legal can play in driving innovation and enabling positive patient outcomes. A champion for talent, Liz is a highly collaborative leader who is deeply committed to diversity, equity and inclusion. She has developed, mentored and coached a strong pipeline of diverse talent throughout her career, consistently investing in the next generation.
Most recently, Liz served as General Counsel for the Pharmaceuticals Legal Group and was a member of the Pharmaceuticals Group Operating Committee. Liz’s tenure as General Counsel for the Pharmaceutical sector is typified by the programs she drove to ensure optimal, aligned intellectual property, regulatory, and commercial strategies internally, as well as her leadership in the global healthcare environment to promote initiatives that encourage innovation and benefit patients.
Before joining Johnson & Johnson, Liz developed extensive regulatory legal experience as an associate at a top international law firm, and in positions of increasing responsibility with the North America and Asia Pacific legal operations of Pfizer Inc.
Liz holds a B.A. degree from Cornell University and a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law.
