Harvey. Irma. Maria.
Anyone who has lived through the historic hurricanes that swept through the United States, Puerto Rico and Mexico this past August and September will likely not forget these names, particularly those who are still grappling with their devastation—including thousands of children who’ve been displaced from their homes.
To help these young survivors, Johnson & Johnson is proud to announce a $1 million contribution to Save the Children for hurricane and earthquake relief efforts in all three regions. The funds will go toward immediate aid on the ground, as well as initiatives designed to provide long-term emotional support to children, including resilience activities and access to quality education and care. The company has also distributed blankets, hygiene kits and a disaster module filled with medical supplies to impacted areas.
The donation is just the latest in a long-standing commitment to help support Save the Children—and a heritage of aiding communities in need since the founding of Johnson & Johnson.
“For more than a century, Johnson & Johnson has supported communities around the world in rebuilding after natural disasters,” says Joaquin Duato, Executive Vice President and Worldwide Chairman, Pharmaceuticals, Johnson & Johnson. “I am proud to continue this legacy today through our partnership with Save the Children. This investment is designed to meet the needs of children today in the broader U.S., Mexico and Puerto Rico and—more importantly—into the future, after initial support efforts have moved on.”
