Our Locations

Johnson & Johnson has a presence in Switzerland since 1959, when Cilag AG in Schaffhausen was acquired. From this time on, Switzerland has been an important location of Johnson & Johnson. Today, different companies in various cantons and over 5’600 employees are part of Johnson & Johnson in Switzerland.

Basel

The Basel Campus connects J&J Innovation Medicine and MedTech to Europe’s biggest life science ecosystems thriving on the advantageous conditions of the Basel region. The combination of international experts and budding young talents creates a diverse workforce encompassing a comprehensive range of capabilities spanning the entire life cycle of our business in medicines and technologies: from initial development to market introduction covering supply chain, clinical development, quality, addressing both rare and common diseases. There’s a dedicated emphasis on digital and data science, as well as vital support functions with local, regional and global roles.

Bern

The site in Bern, which belongs to the Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine, was founded in 1898 as the Swiss Serum and Vaccine Institute. In Bern, we develop and deliver innovative biopharmaceutical products, based on bacterial and viral technologies, for clinical trials up to launch. The innovation center for viral and bacterial vaccines and novel therapies for example, produced the Ebola vaccine in the last few years.

Neuchatel

Neuchatel Campus consists of one MedTech manufacturing site: Ethicon produces tension free support for stress urinary incontinence. In addition, the global functions of Ethicon and Medos International are located here. They are acting as legal manufacturer for multiple products across Ethicon Biosurgery and Depuy portfolio.

Oberdorf

Our colleagues in Oberdorf work on the development, testing and production of MedTech (Power Tools, Spine Robotics, CMF and Biomaterials). The site opened its doors in 1995 as Stratec Medical, merged with Synthes in 1999 and has been acquired by Johnson & Johnson in 2012.

Schaffhausen

Cilag AG, part of Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine, has been founded in 1936 and is a member of the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies since 1959. The site acts as one of the major producers of the Swiss pharmaceutical industry and one of the most important employers in the Schaffhausen region. Johnson & Johnson Schaffhausen is a centre for launching and boosting growth in parenterals. The company produces high-quality pharmaceutical substances and products, from which patients benefit all over the world.

Selzach

Selzach acts as the logistic center for all DePuySynthes MedTech products. Goods stocked here are shipped to local distribution centers in more than 100 countries with daily shipment to EU affiliates.

Villmergen

The MedTech Distribution Centre is located in Villmergen. The facility offers storage in combination with office space. Next to inspections and distribution of final operation sets, the Distribution Centre in Villmergen ensures that the used surgery kits are collected from the hospitals, checked, exchanged and replaced on-site in a timely manner.

Zuchwil

Our Campus Zuchwil is the EMEA headquarters for DePuy Synthes MedTech. DePuy Synthes, part of the Johnson & Johnson MedTech Companies, provides one of the most comprehensive orthopaedic portfolios in the world. DePuy Synthes solutions, in specialties including joint reconstruction, trauma, craniomaxillofacial, spinal surgery and sports medicine, are designed to advance patient care while delivering clinical and economic value to health care systems worldwide.

Zug

The Zug Campus is home to a number of divisions from both sectors of Johnson & Johnson. As such, it adds value on both a personal and a business level by facilitating interactions between stakeholders, functions and divisions. Zug is one of the most important strategic hubs of Johnson & Johnson outside the USA.
